The Broadcast Order Browser is the central place to manage advertising orders. Open it via Traffic > Broadcast Order Browser. The browser shows saved orders with status, dates, product, station assignments and order types.
Before you start#
- You need a role that grants read access to AdvertisingOrder and its related members.
- Creating a new order requires create permission on AdvertisingOrder.
- Duplicating an order requires read access to the source order and create permission for the new one.
Browse and filter orders#
Default scope#
The browser opens with broadcast orders that are active (running on or after today minus 30 days) and not voided. Use the toolbar or sidebar to change the scope:
- Broadcast / NonBroadcast: toggle the kind filter.
- Recent / Future Orders: active orders with end dates on or after the lookback date.
- Current / Expired: orders whose run dates intersect the current date, or ended before today.
- Hold / InBox / Imported / Canceled / All: status unions.
Sidebar controls#
The left sidebar provides:
- Search/Column/Find Next: literal substring search with wrapover the filtered grid.
- Three sort keys: independent direction; duplicates rejected.
- Station and Account Rep filters: choose All, Unassigned or a specific assignment. These use the accepted
OrderAssignmentFilterControllerand intersect with date/status criteria.
Browser design and output#
Columns, Filter, Sort and Page Setup share a single Browser Settings dialog. Apply validates all tabs before changing any live state. Print PDF exports the filtered rows with visible columns, widths and chosen geometry. Settings are per-user and survive restart.
Create a new order#
Start a new order#
In the Broadcast Order Browser, choose New.
Select the customer#
Choose a saved customer. The order header initializes from the customer’s defaults:
- Agency, Account Rep, Revenue Source/Revenue Type
- Invoice Type, Billing Cycle, Statement Cycle
- Discount/Trade settings, Commission rates
- Tax definition and Product Protect preferences
Enter order details#
Fill the header fields on the General tab:
- **Stations**: add one or more stations from the available list.
- **Status, Product, Order Type, Contract** and **Revenue Type**.
- **Spot Separation Minutes** and **Account Rep**.
Save the header#
Choose Save before adding order lines. If the customer, stations or other lookups are changed by another session, a stale-context refusal appears. Cancel and reopen to retry.
Order assignments and related records#
After saving, use the tabs on the order detail:
- Schedule: add and edit order lines (see Order Lines).
- Invoice Instructions: billing cycle, invoice type, PO number, script/affidavit flag and agency/rep codes.
- Tools > Billing History: view related invoice records.
- Tools > Reminders: create reminders tied to this order and its customer.
The Related Records action opens child objects scoped to the saved order. These open in independent dialogs and do not commit unsaved parent drafts.
Duplicate an order#
Open the source order#
Select a saved broadcast order and choose Duplicate Order.
Choose destination and copy#
Select a destination customer and an owned normal copy. The new order is created in Hold status with a user-entered positive order number.
Review and save#
The duplicate copies dates, commercial inputs, station membership, product protections and ordinary-line scheduling configuration. Review the draft and choose Save. Cancel discards the entire draft.
The duplicate never copies order/line GUIDs, invoices, A/R records, events, charges or historical snapshots. This duplication procedure covers ordinary orders with customer-owned normal copy.
Cancel an order#
Use Cancel to discard unsaved changes and return to the browser. If the order was already saved, use Close to exit without further changes. A saved order cannot be physically deleted while it has lines, events or financial history.
