An order line defines what airs, when, on which stations and at what cost. Open order lines from the Schedule tab of a saved broadcast order.
Before you start#
- You need a role with read/write access to AdvertisingOrderLine and its related members.
- Adding lines requires a saved parent order with at least one station.
- Editing station rates requires write access to OrderLineStationRate.
Add an order line#
Open the line editor#
In the order’s Schedule tab, choose Add Order Line. If a line is highlighted, the new line copies its current dates, times, quantities, type, length, copy and position as defaults.
Set dates and runs#
- Date Range: enter Start Date and End Date.
- Runs: choose a run policy. For daily quantities, use All Weeks / Daily and enter the seven weekday values. For weekly quantities and run-week patterns, see Weekly scheduling.
Enter daily quantities#
For Monday through Sunday, enter the number of spots. A blank or zero requests zero spots. The Per Week total is derived from the daily values.
Set time range and class#
Enter From and To times, and optionally choose a Time Class.
Enter line details#
- Length / Type: duration and log type (for example, CA, MAC).
- Description / Note: free text for the schedule and reports.
- Avail Type: match eligible template breaks.
- Position: UnRestricted, First in Break, Last in Break, First OR Last, or Book-Ends. Selecting Book-Ends automatically changes the Type to MAC with a notification.
- Preemption Level: 0 (Non-Preemptible) through 9 (Very Preemptible).
Assign copy#
Use CopyID to be Played to choose an existing copy, or Change to open the copy picker and create/select a different copy. For MAC lines, copy is assigned on individual macro items instead.
Set station rates#
In the station/cost grid on the right, enter a Cost Per Broadcast for each selected station. The rate is stored as a separate OrderLineStationRate record with a decimal(19,4) amount. Zero is valid. Missing rates show as Unresolved in demand previews and reports.
Save#
Choose Save to commit the line. The order header validates that line dates fit within the order bounds. Cancel discards the draft.
Commercial calculation (preview)#
The Calculate Amounts action opens a saved-data preview of the order’s commercial terms using explicitly resolved current inputs:
- Discounts Allowed: percentage of gross or fixed amount.
- Apply Trade Credit: percentage of net or fixed amount.
- Agency commission: percentage of discounted gross.
- Account Rep and National Rep commissions: percentages of net.
This preview is unrounded and read-only. It does not post, issue or save invoice snapshots.
Delete an order line#
Select a line and choose Delete Order Line. Deletion is refused if the line has active broadcast events, charge history or macro item references. A confirmation appears for unused lines; the operation cleans up owned child records and preserves history.
Copy assignment and history#
Use Change next to the assigned copy to open the picker. You can:
- Select Copy: use an existing normal/rotator/packet/schedule copy owned by the customer or shared.
- New / Create: create a new catalog copy from the picker and return it to the line.
- Edit Copy: open the copy in a detail popup.
Copy assignment is a configuration draft until the order line is saved. Changing copy does not alter historical snapshots, events or charges.
