Neural Log's financial reports read saved invoice, payment and adjustment history in a fresh secured transaction. They are read-only: printing or previewing never posts data, changes balances or creates new transactions. This page covers the Accounts Receivable and Transactions report families.
Before you start#
Prerequisites
- You are signed in to Neural Log.
- You have a role that grants read access to invoice, receivable entry and payment data.
Permissions
Access is role-based through Setup > Administrator Controls > Users and Passwords under Security. Only the Administrators role is bootstrapped. If a report action is missing, ask your administrator to check your role.
Important: Save or cancel any pending customer, order or account changes before running a report. If the current view has unsaved edits, the report action shows a message asking you to save or cancel first.
Accessing financial reports#
You can open financial reports from two places:
- Reports menu — choose the report family, then select customers from a read-only chooser.
- Customer view — from a customer detail or list, use the customer-specific report action.

AR Aging reports#
AR Aging shows remaining unpaid invoice balances as of a selected date. It uses the retained invoice date as the age basis.
How to run AR Aging#
Step 1#
Go to Reports > Accounts Receivable Reports > AR Aging Reports — Select Customers.
Step 2#
Select one or more customers and open the report.
Step 3#
Choose an As of date.
Step 4#
Choose the aging method: Days or Months.
Step 5#
Choose the format: Summary (one row per customer) or Detail (one row per invoice).
Step 6#
Click Get Report.
Days method#
Day buckets are:
- Current (0-30 days)
- 31-60
- 61-90
- 91-120
- 121+
Months method#
Month buckets are:
- Current month
- Three previous months with year labels
- Earlier
How balances are calculated#
Every invoice balance is the exact sum of its signed ledger entries dated on or before the report date. Later payments and adjustments do not change an earlier balance. Credits remain on their own invoice. Zero-balance invoices are omitted from Detail; selected customers remain in Summary even with zero totals.
Limits#
The report refuses if selection exceeds:
- 1,000 selected customers
- 1,000 combined invoices
- 10,000 ledger entries
Export#
After Get Report succeeds, click Print PDF or Export CSV. PDF uses A4 landscape with repeated aging columns.
AR Reconciliation reports#
AR Reconciliation shows activity over a selected period: beginning balance, invoices, payments, adjustments and finance charges, ending with an ending balance.
How to run AR Reconciliation#
Step 1#
Go to Reports > Accounts Receivable Reports > AR Reconciliation Reports — Select Customers.
Step 2#
Select customers and open the report.
Step 3#
Enter From and Through dates (both inclusive).
Step 4#
Choose Summary or Detail.
Step 5#

Column definitions#
| Entry type | Report column |
|---|---|
| Invoice debit (net sales plus tax/fee) | Invoices |
| Issue-time trade and national-representative credits | Adjustments |
| Payment allocation | Payments (signed credit) |
| Manual FIN adjustment, positive or negative | Finance charges |
| All other explicit manual adjustment types | Adjustments |
Balancing rule#
Beginning + Invoices + Payments + Adjustments + Finance charges = Ending, using exact decimal values.
Detail rows#
Detail includes an opening row, each period transaction with its number, invoice, station and explanation, and a customer closing row. Only the last row for each date shows that date's combined balance.
Transaction Reports#
Transaction Reports cover invoices, cash receipts and comparative sales. These share the same customer chooser and period controls.
How to run Transaction Reports#
Step 1#
Go to Reports > Transactions > Transaction Reports — Select Customers.
Step 2#
Select customers and open the report.
Step 3#
Choose the report type from the dropdown: Invoices Summary, Invoices Detail, Cash Receipts Summary, Cash Receipts Detail or Comparative Sales.
Step 4#
Choose a period preset or enter custom dates.
Step 5#
Click Get Report.
Invoiced Sales#
Invoiced Sales reports read retained invoice documents directly. They show:
- Gross sales
- Discounts
- Agency commission
- Net sales
- Tax
- Account representative commission
- National representative commission
Reissue invoices include an explicit source offset row so counting both full invoices without the offset would not overstate sales. Offset amounts come from the retained reissue source document.
Cash Receipts#
Cash Receipts reports show customer payments received in the selected period. Formats:
- Summary — one row per receipt with total amount.
- Detail — each allocation split across invoices and advances.
- Comparative — current period versus prior-year period with amount and percentage change.
Comparative Sales#
Comparative Sales compares a chosen period with the corresponding prior-year period. Choose the measure: Net sales (default), gross sales, discounts, agency commission, tax, account rep commission or national rep commission.
Current policy:
- Each boundary shifts back one calendar year.
- February 29 clamps to February 28 in the prior year.
- Zero prior with positive current shows 100%.
- Both zero shows 0%.
- Negative prior displays N/A.
- Overall percentage is computed from overall amounts.
Adjustment Activity#
Adjustment Activity reports read the Adjustments category from the A/R reconciliation.
How to run Adjustment Activity#
Step 1#
Go to Reports > Transactions > Adjustment Activity — Select Customers.
Step 2#
Select customers and open the report.
Step 3#
Choose Summary or Detail.
Step 4#
Enter the period dates.
Step 5#
Click Get Report.
Columns#
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Debit | Positive debits |
| Credit | Positive credits |
| Trade credit | Initial and revised trade credits |
| Bad debt | Bad debt adjustments |
| Agency commission | Agency commission adjustments |
| Tax | Tax adjustments |
| Unwired commission | Unwired commission |
| National rep commission | National representative commission |
| Reissue price offset | Reissue settlement release/carry |
Types come from retained explicit fields, never from amount signs. A positive Credit stays in Credit; a negative Debit stays in Debit.
Common report behavior#
What all financial reports share#
- Fresh capture — every Get Report recaptures saved data, permissions and the complete input signature.
- Stale refusal — if data changed after the report was generated, exports are refused until you refresh.
- Read-only — no financial posting, no number generation, no history change.
- Limits — excessive selections are refused rather than truncated.
- Authenticated downloads — PDF/CSV/JSON exports use single-use expiring links.
Report settings tabs#
Most financial report dialogs have these tabs:
- General — dates, format selection, page setup.
- Title — custom title and subtitle.
- Font — font family and size (for supported reports).
- Formats — save, update, archive or restore named formats.
Changes to dates or filters require Get Report. Changes to title or font alone clear downloads but use the same reviewed data.
Sales Goals#
Setup > Account Rep Sales Goals includes a Goal Totals action that reads current saved goals for account representatives. This is a configuration report, not a financial posting. It shows twelve monthly amounts and a year total for selected stations and representatives. See Setup and Tools for more about sales goal configuration.
